Mom, Wife, Advertising Manager. I eat nails for breakfast. I'm a mega dork. Lady Sif is my idol. Poop is my favorite subject.
My favorite thing about CrossFit is that we lift each other up. I'm not the strongest and I'm not the best but I'll get down in the dirt with you and we'll climb out of it together.

I started CrossFit in 2013 while deployed and haven’t looked back. This started off as a way to keep up with my kids and young Marines, now it is a part of my life. Over the years I have discovered that I love helping people on their fitness journey just as much as working on my own. Also, I have found myself specializing in the Olympic weightlifting part of CrossFit and have been able to compete on the National and International level of Masters Weightlifting. I look forward to helping you be a little better than you were yesterday. See you at the whiteboard!

Rudy Cruz

Rudy joined CrossFit in 2013 looking for a challenge, and change, in his normal gym routine. When he’s not at the gym, Rudy is a youth Soccer coach with Coastal United Soccer and a Physical Therapist Assistant. His medical background is helpful in understanding body mechanics and fuels his passion for the impact that health and wellness can have on an individual’s life.

I started CrossFit in 2016 and fell in love with it. CrossFit has taught me that I am physically and mentally stronger than I could have ever imagined. Since then, the gym has been a constant source of joy helping me through the highs and lows of life. As a military spouse, CrossFit has helped me find community everywhere my family goes. I have made countless genuine friendships along the way. As a coach I hope I can inspire others to show up consistently and give their best effort each class.

Coach
Maddie Binkerd
CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
I've been doing CrossFit since 2017, when I started in high school as a way to condition for sports. I quickly developed a passion for it and have loved it ever since. One of my favorite parts of CrossFit is seeing progress—not only in myself, but in others as well. I enjoy watching people discover the strength and resilience they didn't know they had.
Outside of the gym, I work as a horticulturist at Tryon Palace and love spending time on the water, whether that's paddleboarding, swimming, or just being outdoors whenever I can. While muscle-ups and pistols are still goals I'm working toward, what keeps me coming back is the incredible community and encouragement at CrossFit Burn. The support, accountability, and friendships I've found there make every workout worthwhile.

Coach
Stephanie Wilson
CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
I started CrossFit in 2025 after moving to New Bern. I was looking for a gym that offered great workouts but more importantly a strong sense of community. As a former cycling instructor, I've always enjoyed helping people challenge themselves, build confidence, and discover what they're truly capable of. At the gym you'll usually find me gravitating toward the cardio machines, embracing a challenge, and turning just about anything into a friendly competition. I'm competitive to a fault, love cheering others on, and don’t seem to know a stranger!
